Is it possible that Windows is blue screening? I knwo that with many LCDs, they don't switch graphics modes to show a blue screen before XP has moved on with the restart.

Right click on My Computer - Properties. Then go to the Advanced tab, Settings under Startup and Recovery, and uncheck Automaticially Restart.

If it is a blue screen, something on that might show some useful info on tracking it down.
